In Case You Missed These……..

December 19, 2012 By Stephen Pepper Leave a Comment

We’ve been really busy writing blog posts over the last 12 months. Not only do we write 6 days a week for Youth Workin’ It, I’ve started publishing 3 scavenger hunt ideas a week over at Scavenger Hunt, plus we’ve written quite a few guest posts for other blogs.

This week’s Best Of Youth Workin’ It therefore brings you some of our guest posts that were published elsewhere during 2012, in case you missed them the first time around.

1. Seventy8Productions: Line Management In Youth Ministry – This was Shae’s first guest post and looks at common complaints youth pastors have, complaints pastors have about their youth pastors and what youth pastors can do to overcome these issues.

2. Youthguy07: My Best Day In Youth Ministry – Shae wasn’t able to come up with just one best day, so check out her top 5 days as a youth worker.

3. Pro Youth Worker: 5 Ways To Go From Being A Good Youth Worker To Being A Great Youth Worker – Find out the 5 areas that Shae identified that can turn you from being just a good youth worker to being a great one.

4. YouthHOPE: Partnerships In Ministry – This post explores the benefits you can get when working in partnership with other organizations as a youth worker.

5. Stuff Christians Like: 10 Types Of VBS Volunteers – I’ve had 7 guest posts published on Jon Acuff’s site over the last 12 months, but this was the only youth work-y related post. This is a tongue-in-cheek look at the different volunteers you can find helping at VBS (Vacation Bible School).

6. Ultimate Youth Worker: What Will Youth Work Look Like In 2013 – Aaron asked us to write about the future of youth work over the coming year, so check the post out for the direction that I think youth work will need to take in 2013 and beyond.

5 Ways You Can Become A Blogging Philanthropist

December 5, 2012 By Stephen Pepper Leave a Comment

We have another guest post on Problogger today – it’s about what bloggers can do if they’re interested in philanthropy.

Although it doesn’t relate directly to youth work, it might give you some ideas of things you can do with your youth group if you’re wanting to get them more involved in the community or supporting other charities.

You can check it out here.

What Will Youth Work Look Like In 2013?

December 4, 2012 By Stephen Pepper Leave a Comment

Tuesday is Youth Work Q & A day and we’ve already answered today’s question – ‘How big should a youth small group be?‘

Today you’re getting two for the price of one though (or for the price of none seeing as all our posts are free to read!) Aaron from Ultimate Youth Worker asked us to answer the question ‘What will youth work look like in 2013?’ which is part of a series on his blog.

The post has been published today, so go check out what we think will be the future of youth work. And make sure you keep checking back on his blog for the other posts in the series – it sounds like there are going to be some awesome contributions from other youth workers.

Actually, just go ahead and add him to your feed reader or sign up to get his posts by email. You definitely won’t regret it – there’s a reason he makes our youth work blog posts of the week list pretty much every single week.

What’s Youth Workin’ It Up To This Festive Season?

December 1, 2012 By Stephen Pepper Leave a Comment

In case you’re wondering what Shae & I will be up to heading into Christmas and through to 2013, there’s an interview with me today on Problogger.

I explain what we’ve done to prepare this blog for the coming season, what we’ll be up to over Christmas and then our plans for Youth Workin’ It for 2013.

You can check it out here.

Ever Wondered What The Bible Would Look Like Written in Haikus?

November 23, 2012 By Stephen Pepper Leave a Comment

Stuff Christians LikeThere’s the NIV, NLT, GNB, Message and many other translations of the Bible. But what would it look like written in haikus?

You can now find out! I’ve written a guest post for Jon Acuff’s Stuff Christians Like blog, which has different parts of the Bible written in haiku form, with tongue planted firmly in cheek.

You can check out the Haiku Bible here.

If you’ve come here from Stuff Christians Like, welcome and thanks for visiting! We hope you enjoyed the post and that that’s why you’re now here. If you’re new to Youth Workin’ It, here’s a quick guide to our site:
