Every week, we publish a list of Would You Rather questions with a particular theme – this week, the questions are all about money.

We also have several ideas of discussions and activities you could do with your youth group that tie in with this money theme.

If you’ve not played it before, here’s how to play Would You Rather.

10 Money Would You Rather Questions

  1. win $5 million tomorrow or $100 million in 20 years time?
  2. earn lots of money doing a job you hate or not earn much doing a job you love?
  3. win a dream 2 week vacation or a $10,000 shopping spree in your favorite store?
  4. marry someone rich who cheats on you or someone with no money who is faithful?
  5. have $100 or have your face on every $100 bill?
  6. save money or spend it?
  7. come from a rich family and have parents who don’t love you or come from a poor family and have parents who do love you?
  8. earn millions creating a cure for a disease that only saves 1,000 people or earn no money creating a cure for a disease that saves 5 million people?
  9. be rich or powerful?
  10. go to jail for 10 years for stealing $1 million but get to keep it when you get out (because you hid it) or be on the run for the rest of your life with none of the money but get to avoid jail?

These questions could provide a good opening to discuss:

  • Whether money is important to your young people and why
  • What things they put value on
  • Delayed gratification

As for youth group activities, here are some suggestions:

  • Fundraisers of any kind – to emphasize the good that money can do
  • Live Below The Line – to explore and understand what you can actually live on (and how many people do have to live)
  • Youth consumerism – to look at what they need vs what they want
  • Budgeting for high price items  – to improve this necessary life skill
  • Financial awareness – to improve this necessary life skill too
  • Thanksgiving – to appreciate all that they have
  • Stealing – if this is an issue your young people struggle with

If you liked these ideas, check out all our Would You Rather questions.

Question: What other questions can you think of that have a money theme? Or do you have any suggestions for discussions or activities that could be organized off the back of these? We’d love to hear your ideas in the comments below.

These questions could also tie in nicely if you’re planning on taking your young people to a local animal shelter or Humane Society as a volunteering opportunity.

Alternatively, use them as part of some Earth Day activities by focusing on animal care.

10 Christian Would You Rather Questions – Part 3

July 24, 2013 By Stephen Pepper Leave a Comment

Christian Would You Rather Questions
I wonder if this is what Balaam’s talking donkey looked like…

Each week, we’re publishing a list of 10 Would You Rather questions that have a certain theme. We’ve covered superpowers, school, food, gross ideas and more.

We’ve also published a number of Christian Would You Rather questions and this week we have 10 more. You can find the other parts using the links below:

  • Part 1
  • Part 2
  • Part 3 – this week

Beneath the questions are some suggestions of discussions and activities that you could plan that are linked to the questions.

If you’re not sure how to organize this game, here’s how to play it.

10 Christian Would You Rather Questions – Part 3

Would you rather…

  1. be like Zechariah and made mute by an angel or like Jacob and have to wrestle with an angel?
  2. see Lot’s wife turn to salt or hear Balaam’s donkey talking?
  3. live in the Garden of Eden that’s perfect but unchanging or in our imperfect world that has sin but also a hope for forgiveness?
  4. live on the ark with all the stinky animals or be stuck in the belly of a large fish?
  5. (For girls) have to wear a head covering for your whole life or no make up?
  6. (For boys) have to wear a head covering or never shave your beard and not cut your hair?
  7. deny Jesus three times or betray Him for 30 pieces of silver?
  8. be Abraham and be told you have to kill your only son not knowing that he’d be saved or be Isaac knowing that your father would be willing to sacrifice you?
  9. have to love your neighbor your whole life or your enemy for one month?
  10. be known for forgiveness or faith?

Discussions / Activities

501 Would You Rather Questions
Get the book – 501 Would You Rather Questions

Here are some discussions you could use based on some of the questions:

  • How do you think you’d react if you saw an angel?
  • If life on Earth was perfect, do you think you’d find it boring? Why is that?
  • How do you feel about some of the gender specific rules that the Bible mentions?
  • Why do you think God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son, knowing that he was going to stop him from doing so anyway?
  • What are some ways you can actively love your enemies?
  • Who are some people you need to forgive?
  • What are some ways you can show faith?

As for youth group activities, you could organize some sessions on:

  • Restoration and forgiveness
  • Building bridges (tied in to forgiveness and loving enemies)

If you liked these ideas, check out all our other Would You Rather questions – as we mentioned above, there are many more questions with all different kinds of themes in addition to the Christian ones.

Question: What other Christian youth group activities could you plan that are related to the questions listed above? We’d love to hear your suggestions in the comments below.

  • If you could choose one thing to be famous for, what would it be?
  • Which famous person do you admire most? Why is that?

Youth Group Activities

Here are a few activities and session plans that could tie in with this ‘being famous’ theme, especially in terms of helping them to set targets and achieve their goals:

Gross Would You Rather Questions
Mmmmm…… slug……

  2. not shower for a month or not change your clothes for a month?
  3. lick the sidewalk in Times Square or the toilet seat at home?
  4. have a baby throw up on you or pee on you?
  5. swim in a pool of sour milk or sit in a bath with rotting fish?

  8. not be able to stop burping or farting?

  10. have someone sneeze all over your hair or have someone else’s pimple burst over your face?

Discussions / Activities

501 Would You Rather Questions
Get the book – 501 Would You Rather Questions

As a whole, the Would You Rather questions above don’t really lend themselves to any particular youth group activities or discussions.

A few of the questions though could be used to tie into youth work sessions on a particular theme. For example:

  • Question 2 could be used to explore some of the issues that homeless people face
  • Question 4 could be used when discussing sexual health (as one of the consequences of having children after not using contraception)
  • Question 8 could be used in a session about etiquette
  • Question 9 could be used when discussing bullying

If you liked these ideas, check out all our other Would You Rather questions here.

Question: What other gross questions can you think of? We’d love to hear your ideas in the comments below.
